Shirim Klezmer Orchestra is simply one of the most compelling klezmer bands around. Masters of the traditional Eastern European Jewish folk idiom, the band has also created zany but thoroughly convincing extensions to the repertoire- a "Klezmer Nutcracker" twists new meaning out of the holiday favorite, "Maurice Sendak's Pincus" is a remarkable collaboration with Maurice Sendak, and a large repertoire of traditional tunes which will knock your socks off.
